Public Health Scholarships Joint Call for Proposals in Food Biotechnology Academy


The Public Health Scholarships focus is the development of biotechnical processes in the food and nutrition science research, covering all issues in which biotechnology is applied. 3-year project to cover for example the following topics: food processing and food safety.The successful projects will be funded in India by DBT and in Finland by the Finnish Academy. Joint projects must meet the criteria of funding agencies. Research projects funded for a maximum of three years.

Finland and India co-applicant will develop a research plan together that will be sent to both DBT and the Academy of Finland using a form of organization of each, respectively. The
Public Health Scholarships application must include a statement of how the proposed collaboration brings added value to both countries.

The
Public Health Scholarships project budget should clearly describe the justified costs of Finland and India. The cost of Finnish couples should be eligible in accordance with guidelines from the Academy of Finland. Thus, the cost of Indian partner must be eligible in accordance with the DBT guidelines. Public Health Scholarships Applicants are reminded to include a sufficient budget for travel between Finland and India to ensure successful collaboration.

Public Health Scholarships


The Public Health Scholarships program aims to make Norway an attractive destination for Ph.D. research highly qualified international students and young researchers in all subject areas, thereby strengthening the Norwegian research community involved.

Public Health Scholarships Grant applications will be accepted from the following countries:
European Countries: All countries, including all Council of Europe member states, except for the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).
Non-European countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico and South Africa.


This Public Health Scholarships programme/activity normally accepts grant applications from:

- Ph.D. students admitted to an organised doctoral degree programme;
- Younger researchers who completed a Ph.D. degree not more than six years prior to submission of the grant application.
Applicants must be affiliated with a higher education and/or research institution in one of the countries covered under the programme.

Overall budget:

The annual budget framework is about NOK 10 million.

Public Health Scholarships Deadlines for applications

The Norwegian-language call for proposals is published at the latest six weeks before the deadline date. When applicable, English-language versions will be published as soon as possible after the Norwegian version.
